Rainbow Lake Resort has many features that will make any
wedding memorable. Our ceremony island in the middle of the
lake is approached by an arched footbridge. The centerpiece
of the island is a 14ft elevated gazebo with a small raised
dais at the entrance where the bride and groom can take
their vows. There is also a runner carpet that runs up the
aisle to the gazebo, and a large shade tent is erected to
keep the attendees cool during summertime ceremonies.
The ceremony can proceed in many ways. Many times the bride
descends the steps of the wedding cottage (Cottage K)
followed by the bridesmaids. The bride, her father and a
flower girl can then board the SS Cleopatra, our solar
powered wedding swan boat, and quietly glide over to the
wedding island amidst floating flower petals. The bride is
then escorted on to the dock behind the gazebo. At the same
time, the bridesmaids gracefully promenade to the wedding
island bridge and await their signal. The bride then comes
forward on the gazebo and the bridesmaids then cross the
bridge and parade up the aisle. Next the groom paddles or is
paddled over to the island where he lands and then comes
forward to appear on the gazebo as well. After the ceremony
the bride and groom board the swan boat and proceed “off
into the distance”. At the far end of the lake is a dock
where the wedding couple can land
and spend a few quiet moments in private at a sitting area
by the falls
before they return to the awaiting crowd.
There are many
picturesque spots on the lake where group shots can be
taken such as under the willow tree or by the fountain, The
wedding
ceremony itself can take place in several other locations
besides the
gazebo if the wedding party so chooses.

Wedding Ceremony Fees |
|
The
ceremony basic package includes: use of the island,
white wedding seats, the gazebo aisle runner and
optional use of the swan float. For weddings that
are scheduled in the heat of the day or that face
the prospect of possible precipitation, an optional
shade/rain tent is available and can be quickly
erected.
Processional aisle runner option: The processional
walk from the wedding party residence (Cottage K) to
the bridge is a 200 ft grass covered path. If there
is concern about damage to the wedding dress, a 36”
white aisle runner is available for a $200 fee.
Salon and Spa services for the bridal party: We have worked with Donna James of the Salon and Day Spa of Hendersonville for several years now.Their website is: www.thesalonanddayspa.net and their phone number is 828-697-8464.
The salon offers several bridal packages that can provide manicures, pedicures, massage, facials, makeup, hair styling, hair coloring and general pampering that all brides and bridesmaids need, and let’s not forget the groom!
Swan Float Option: The Bride and her escort may walk
to the bridge or may ride the swan boat. The swan
boat is actually a 4 ft x 10 ft solar powered float
capable of carrying 6 adults. It is extremely
stable. A standard electric trolling motor propels
the float and is foot controlled by the escort. It
noiselessly floats from a small dock in front of K
to a dock behind the gazebo. Meanwhile a flower girl
can be spreading rose petals into the water as the
couple passes by the on looking crowd. The solar
electric swan float is available for a fee $100 for
all weddings booked after May 2009.
Rehearsal dinner option: If the resort is already
rented for having a reception, a wedding party may
also want to have a rehearsal dinner in the
pavilion. If the rehearsal dinner party is 60
participants or less, the fee for having it in the
pavilion is $200. This fee covers tables, chairs,
use of the food prep area, the gas grill and toilet
facilities. The participants will be expected to set
up their own tables and chairs.
The following fees are for ceremonies that are
followed by
receptions held on our premises, since the same
chairs are used for
both events. Our staff will discretely move the
chairs from the
island to the pavilion once the ceremony is over. If
a ceremony is
held without a reception, there will be an
additional seating fee.
