 Our valley and
private lake at Rainbow Lake Resort make a perfect setting
for memorable family gatherings and reunions. In our resort
community we have enough cottages to house up to 60 people,
and we have arrangements for 20 additional guests with
innkeepers a few miles down the road.
During a reunion there are many gatherings, large and small,
indoors and outdoors and our resort can provide venues for
all these situations. All of our large cottages have
expansive open floor plans, with very large adjoining decks
and porches. Cottages T and L have meeting areas that can
accommodate up to fifty people each. On the grounds there
are several gazebos for intimate gatherings and at the patio
area there is a 2000 sq. ft. covered pavilion equipped with lighting, grills,
electricity and water supply. The pavilion is equipped with
enough tables and seating to accommodate 40 people;
additional tables and chairs are available for a small fee.
For large groups we can arrange for potty stations with
washstands.
On the resort property we have field games, net games, boating and our lake is regularly stocked with rainbow
trout, no fishing license required. Across the road from us
is the East Fork of the French Broad River, famous for its
trophy trout waters. Down the road eight miles is Headwaters
Outfitters who offer tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and trout
fishing guides.
We can also arrange for special carnival games and activity
venues such as the climbing wall, water wars, 9 hole mini
golf, chipper golf and the limbo contest. Arrangements can
be made for inflatable attractions such as moonwalks,
slides, bounce houses, wild rapid water slides, obstacle
courses and mazes. Interactive inflatables include the velcro
wall, pedestal jousting, bungee runs, speed pitches, bouncy
boxing and pop shot basketball. We can also offer face
painting, clowns, balloon sculpting and pony rides.
Private local waterfall tours may be arranged, Transylvania
county is designated as a temperate rainforest, and we are
known for our abundant rivers, creeks and swimming holes. We
are surrounded by forests: The Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain
National Parks, as well as The Gorges, Ceasers Head, Holmes
and DuPont State Parks. We have some of the best mountain
biking and hiking trails in the country.
Asheville, famous for it’s musical and artistic community as
well as excellent shopping and dining is about an hour away,
as are the world famous Biltmore Estate and The Grove Park
Inn. Our town, Brevard, has special events frequently and
features many exceptional restaurants, galleries and craft
stores. There are music and drama performances at the
Brevard Music Center and the Porter Center at Brevard
College. Nearby Flat Rock is known for The Carl Sandburg
Home and the Flat Rock Playhouse, the official North
Carolina State Theatre.
Every family reunion has special requirements. We prefer to
work with well in advance so that attention is given to the
specific needs of every member of your party. We look

reunions of more than 30 attendees. |
Here is
some additional information on services that you may require if you plan to have an event at Rainbow Lake
Resort:
Most of our caterers can supply a buffet style meal
or a-la-carte
service with wait staff. The wait staff fee is
around $75 per
waiter including gratuities, usually one waiter is
required per
every 25 attendees. Buffet meals such as a pasta
buffet or a
barbeque buffet start around $11.00 per person up to
$14 per if
ribs are included. This includes disposable utensils
and plates and
basic beverages. Other entrees such as blackened
chicken ($15 per),
Beef Stroganoff ($16 per) fresh brook trout ($19
per) vary, but
this will give you an idea what basic costs are.
Wedding cake
usually starts out at $4.00 per person. Appetizers
cost from $4 to
$8 per person depending.
An additional 4 dollars per person will cover for
china, glass and
silverware if desired. See STJ (below) for linen,
silverware and serving
dishes prices. Note china, linens and silverware do
not have to be
returned cleaned. We have had experience with most
